Body Shaper Construction
Ardyss International's premium body shapers are made with Powernet, a firm and flexible synthetic fiber with superior elasticity. Powernet has enough stretch to contour to the lines of the body, and has "memory" so it can return to its former state after wearing. Most body shapers will be worn for extended periods of time, so it is important that zippers, hooks, and other fasteners are easily accessible and do not come in direct contact with the skin. Seams should be on the exterior of the garment so they do not chafe the skin, and the boning should be flexible and completely concealed. Body Smoothers
Body smoothers do not have the same level of compression that body shapers have. They are not designed to reshape the body, instead they help minimize and conceal lumps and bulges. Most often they are made of Spandex (Lycra), a cheaper, lighter-weight synthetic fabric with four-way stretch.
